TheWorkday Analystis a member of the centralized, dedicated Workday HRIS Team, working together to ensure effective use of the system by updating, configuring, improving and providing expertise on the system for other HR departments!
The Workday HR system enables Ferguson to efficiently manage HR, payroll, talent, recruiting, learning and is the critical system of record for all people data. The HRIS Analyst will have at least one specialty function to support. This is an opportunity to join a thriving team at Ferguson.
This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid in Newport News, VA, in accordance with company policy.
This position reports into the Manager of HRIS.
Responsibilities:
- Address raised service tickets related to complex Workday issues, including testing of changes
- Identify, validate and test business process and configuration changes related to business changes, issues or process improvements
- Stakeholder management and communication related to requirements gathering, new releases, and project goals and results
- Collaborate with Workday Analysts and Business Analysts on discovery, designing and planning solutions, building, testing and hypercare of projects
- Root-cause analysis of issues
- Testing for Workday releases, configuration changes, data loads
- Identify and apply best practices
- Manage and troubleshoot data loads
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise for training
- Log cases and partner with Workday for problem-solving and learning
- Provide advisory services and guidance to management regarding system requirements based on company resources and needs
- Participate in team and cross-functional meetings to generate ideas and collaboratively find solutions
- Maintain awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Workday PRO Certification
Or 3 years experience in at least two of the following Workday modules required:
- Workday HCM
- Workday Recruiting/Onboarding
- Workday Security
- Workday Compensation and Advanced Compensation
- Workday Payroll (US only)
- Workday Absence and Time Tracking
- Workday Benefits
- Workday Performance Management and Talent
Understanding of HR operations and experience with HR data
Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with associates and managers

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.
This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
