Job Definition
Manages the company work instruction platform to ensure consistency in use of the platform amongst all manufacturing and production departments in the company. The Work Instructions manager is a key element to both the administration of manufacturing process information, as well as ensuring high quality standards are communicated and tracked within the company work instruction platform.
Overall Purpose of the Work Instructions Admin
The Work Instructions Admin will guide various dept leaders and team experts in creating, publishing and editing easy to follow step by step guides that clearly explain how tasks are completed to reduce job frustration, speed training, improve quality and increase safety.
CORE RESPONSIBILITLIES:
- Training team & department leaders to write Work Instructions that are easy to read and follow for a new person that consistently follow standard formatting and terminology as set by the Work Instructions administrator.
- Leads Scale-Tec's team members in the proper use of the work instruction platform.
- Develop formatting standards for work instruction content, presenting the best workflow experience with the work instruction platform.
- Oversee work instruction creation schedule, which is informed by the production schedule & department leaders.
- Administrator of Work Instructions platform managing the contract and subscription base as well as access permissions.
- Research and implement new features in work instruction software.
- Develop the Work Instructions approval process and implement approval roles in Work Instructions software.
- Communicates needed work instruction changes with the approval authorities.
- Track work instruction revisions while retaining copies of previous versions and developing a process for implementing new versions.
- Trains and assists manufacturing & operations teams in the proper use of video, pictures, and audio when documenting various steps of the Work Instructions.
- Creates standardized symbology, giving emphasis within Work Instructions to quality and safety considerations.
- Develop and track Work Instructions KPI (Key Performance Indicators).
- Adds Work Instructions links to other platforms such as Netsuite to incorporate with Work Orders.
- Writing & editing technical job SOP's in Work Instructions software.
- Preserve Scale-Tec's essential knowledge in SOP.
- Empower work instruction improvement.

SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Competency in writing technical documentation such as how to & installation manuals.
- Able to build and maintain productive relationships with team members.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication and negotiation skills.
- Analytical with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Project management experience in an industrial environment.
- BS or BA preferred or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience with work or process instructions.
- Fluent in basic computer/tablet use and manipulation of video, pictures and audio files.
- Ability to write technical documentation clearly.
- Love working with people.

- Familiarity and ability to work with SOP and common office software.

Education and/or Experience
An associate degree or two years of college with job related course work and two to four years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with four to six years of progressively responsible related experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
