Worcester Child Development Head Start is a nonprofit Reggio inspired program serving children ages three to five years old and their families. We provide comprehensive services for the whole family that foster an inclusive, welcoming environment for all. Our program works with families and the community to support children with school readiness, social-emotional development, and to recognize their powerful potential. We are looking for a dedicated individual who wants to collaborate with education staff, children, and families as they grow and flourish in our program.
Duties Include:
- Facilitate meetings between teaching teams to support the development and implementation of high quality, Reggio inspired curriculum
- Review weekly lesson plan submissions
- Ensure that differentiation among children’s learning styles and emotional needs are met by classroom teachers
- Provide feedback and support to teaching teams related to lesson plans, including follow-up with teams to ensure any updates are implemented
- Facilitate monthly meetings for Scope and Sequence in the areas of ELA, math and science
- Support teaching teams to design and maintain Reggio inspired classroom environments that serve as an inspiration for inquiry
- Observe in classrooms to provide ongoing support to teachers through the use of reflective practice
- Support teachers with observing children and documenting learning
- Provide support in the center office as needed
- Provide classroom support for teachers as needed
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field, such as education, social or behavioral science required
- A current Preschool Lead Teacher certification from MA DEEC required
- A minimum of two years of experience teaching preschool children
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- One year of supervisory experience preferred
Salary range: $216.00 - $250.92 per day
