The successful candidate for this role will be versatile and adaptable, as they will be required to assist in various areas such as on the CNC router, Production, Finishing and Warehouse. They will receive training on multiple machines and tasks, and their responsibilities will vary depending on the needs of the shop. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with wood products and will be dependable.
Responsibilities and Duties
Operate CNC manual router to flatten wood boards, slabs and table tops.
Process slabs into products to be listed online, this consists of planing, cutting straight edges to make bookmatched table tops, cutting ends, etc.
Some custom finishing, cutting ends, sanding, preparing slabs for finish
Additionally, the job involves operating and maintaining various woodworking machines like planers, sanders, drill presses, and table saws, as well as using hand and power tools. Other responsibilities include receiving training in different departments, assisting with sawing logs, unloading and loading of the kiln, managing inventory, and packaging ground and/or freight shipments.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be able to lift 70-90 lbs
- Must be able to work alone, and with a team
- Must have GREAT work attendance habits
- Utilize a tape measure skillfully and accurately down to the 1/16"
Hours: Hours are Monday-Thursday 6:30am-3:30pm; Friday 6:30am-12:30pm, with the opportunity of OT once trained up
Pay Range: $20 - $23/hour, depending on experience and prior knowledge. If you have no experience but are willing to show up everyday and learn, your starting wage will be on the lower end of the range, but will be available to be reevaluated after 90 days.
