Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Oversight:
- Provide leadership and direction to project superintendents and foremen on various construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to define project goals, timelines, and resource requirements.
2. Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor project superintendents, foremen, and other construction staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide guidance for professional development.
3. Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that construction work meets or exceeds industry standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Implement and oversee quality control processes, conducting regular inspections.
4. Resource Management:
- Optimize the allocation of resources, including labor, equipment, and materials.
- Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of construction materials.
5. Safety Compliance:
- Enforce and promote a strong safety culture on all job sites.
- Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings.
6. Communication:
- Communicate effectively with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on project status, addressing any challenges or deviations from plans.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Superintendent or a similar high-level construction management role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in construction management, project management, or related areas.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in high-level construction management roles.
- Previous experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visit and inspect job sites, including climbing ladders and navigating construction environments.
