Salary Range/Pay Rate:$14,000-$16,000

Position Type:Full-Time

Summary

A live in position working under the direction of the Housing Manager and the Executive Director, the incumbent is responsible for leading and coordinating the Recovery Home. The incumbent’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to managing the Recovery Home’s programming, providing peer-based supports to residents, and establishing a home-like environment of recovery.

Recovery Home Operations

· Enforce all House Rules, Policies, and Procedures, with support of the Housing Manager, while residing in the home as necessary;

· Assist residents to develop strengths-based, self-directed recovery plans, while teaching residents skills necessary to live in recovery, including attending treatment team meetings as determined appropriate;

· Coordination of and planning of Recovery Home activities/programs, housekeeping, toxicology screening and maintaining supply inventory;

· Conduct house and room inspections regularly, or upon suspicion, and report any adverse findings to Housing Manager;

· Promote and foster leadership and increased responsibility in those residents with greater recovery capital and/or greater time in recovery;

· Participate in the screening and interviewing of potential residents and direct the orientation of new residents;

· Assist residents’ transition to housing within the community and exit from the program, dictated by resident choice or programmatic infraction, with assistance from the Housing Manager as necessary;

· Participate in weekly supervision with the Housing Manager

· Implement “Good Neighbor” policies, with the support of the Housing Manager

· Apprise Housing Manager of any and all issues/concerns requiring his/her immediate attention such as need for referral, imminent danger of relapse, etc.

· Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner;

· Consistently model appropriate boundaries, ethics, and maintenance of personal recovery plan

· Understand and adhere to all policies, procedures, and code of ethics for FOCUS and other appropriate governing bodies;

· Ensure the Recovery Home operates in a way that supports recovery, maintains a safe environment, and follows the principles of a Recovery-Oriented System of Care.

Licenses and certifications

Valid Ohio Driver’s License or State ID, reliable transportation preferred

education and/or experience

Ohio Peer Recovery Supporter Training or willingness to attend and complete training within one year of employment, as available. Sustained recovery as defined by the following criteria: seeing recovery as a shared goal across pathways, seeing continuous improvements in life including continual improvement of physical health, emotional health, relationships, spirituality/life purpose/meaning, and services to others, as well as having an awareness of consequences, having experienced a transformative experience with hope and help seeking, identifying as a person in recovery, and having a sense of self as a better person in recovery.

· Experience with obstacles and challenges facing those in early recovery and ability to support multiple pathways of recovery;

· Strong organizational and decision-making skills;

· Ability to effectively handle crisis or emergency situations and take necessary actions;

· Knowledge of community resources and the impact of mental health, substance use, and trauma on the individual, family, and community;

· Ability to travel occasionally around the community;

· Basic to intermediate computer skills;

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a member of a team, including effective communication (both written and verbally).

· Must be able to live in a communal living situation, maintaining a highly visible presence in the Recovery Home, including residing in the Recovery Home at night with no adult overnight visitors.
