Role Definition:

  • Incumbent must have current certifications for all subordinate positions BPA thru PEW.

  • Incumbent will demonstrate superior efficiency to their WT1 peers and will be a subject matter expert in the art of Switchgear wiring.

  • Incumbent will be proficient at identifying and escalating material discrepancies and wiring schematic issues to the appropriate personnel.

  • Assembles electronics according to product specifications. Follows blueprints to put together electronic devices, tools and products using hand and power tools and other assembly equipment. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager.

Role Responsibilities:

The incumbent’s focus will be on the assembly and wiring process in a production environment, helping to maintain safety facility wide, maintaining the production schedule, assisting the Team Lead to help ensure team members have everything they need to succeed, ensuring the quality of products they produce in their work centers, and timely delivery of finished materials to their internal and external customers. The most essential part of the job is escalating all safety, quality, and production issues to appropriate personnel within the organization promptly. Incumbent will be proactive in the success of their team.

They will work with their Team Lead to help provide their fellow team members guidance, assistance, and training as needed to be successful members of the CSA production team in their team leads absence. Incumbent possesses advanced knowledge of CSA standards, drawings, and wiring practices and will be able to help identify and help resolve issues according to CSA drawings and standards. Incumbent will have the ability to perform all punch list activities without assistance. Incumbent must be a subject matter expert in all steps of the career progression path and have a current certifications for each (online classes and practical’s) prior to being deemed a qualified for promotion.

 

Principle Accountabilities:

1. Escalation process - Identifies quality, safety, and production issues and brings them to the immediate attention of the Team Lead or Section Manager as needed.

2. Must be able to stand and work 8-10hrs a day

3. Must be able to safely climb and work on ladders for extended periods of time.

4. Safely delivers high quality products to their customers in a timely manner.

5. Maintains the production schedule through efficiently completing job assignments.

6. Ensures product is manufactured according to the company standards book and engineering specifications

7. Support company initiatives.

8. Accurately log hours worked in various work centers

9. Accurately report defects as they are encountered

10. Eliminate defects and process inefficiencies through proper documentation, investigation, and root cause / corrective action analysis using CSA systems.

11. Support daily 5S housekeeping activities and keep all areas safe, clean, and orderly.

12. Participates in Process Improvement dialogs.

13. Fills in for other Team Lead or other Team Members as required (trained and capable of running ALL operations in the assigned area at minimum).

14. May be called to other work centers to perform any task they are trained to perform based on business needs

15. Other tasks as assigned by management

Knowledge

  • Must possess team leadership skills

  • Must possess willingness and ability to both perform tasks and assign tasks to others.

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. · Must be able to interface with vendors and others delivering and taking materials to and from the facility.

  • Must be able to interface with the Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Facilities Maintenance, Information Technology (IT), and Quality departments to resolve issues encountered

  • Must have proficient computer skills

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, pdf documents.

  • 2-3 years’ experience reading and working with drawings and schematics

  • 3 years of combined experience as Wiring Technician 2 and Quality Control Technician 2 or comparable job titles.

  • Extensive knowledge of CSA schematic reading.

  • Extensive knowledge of CSA production standards and how they can be found.

  • The incumbent must have current certifications for all subordinate positions BPA thru PEW or equivalent training.
