- Oversees or assists in the installation of structured cabling systems (fiber optic and copper).
- Oversees or assists in building telecommunication closets while adhering to applicable standards and specifications.
- Ensures grounding and bonding are compliant with applicable standards and codes.
- Accurately follows fire stopping procedures.
- Oversees or assists in testing and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems.
- Ensures transmission fundamentals of copper and fiber media are maintained.
- Properly performs OSP (outside plant) operations (rodding, roping, fiber splicing, and connectorization).
- Determines cause of issues and troubleshoots entire communications system.
- Tests and evaluates newly installed or existing hardware to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility.
- Utilizes technical manuals and brochures to determine appropriate equipment.
- Prepares timesheets and expense reports, checks for accuracy, approves and submits in accordance with company procedures.
- Compiles, reviews and/or submits other reports, such as site reports or project status reports, as required.
- All other duties as required.
- Solid communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Safety-conscious.
- Schedule flexibility for weekends, nights, or extended travel. Extensive travel should be anticipated-away from home or out-of-market, as needed. These assignments include participation in:
- Emergency deployments
- Rotating On-Call (Standby) schedule
- Overtime when necessary for project completion
- High School graduate or equivalent, required.
- Formal electrical training
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
- 5 years of any work experience.
- Owns basic set of tools (all powered tools and testing equipment will be provided).
- Not afraid of heights. Some climbing and working on manlift 60 feet in the air.
