Job Title: Windows/VMware Engineer
Location: Princeton, NJ
Job Type: 6-12+ month Contract
Job Description:
- You have 10+ years of relevant experience in a Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Network experience
- You possess strong technical knowledge utilizing VMware vCenter, ESXi/Vblock
- You have experience maintaining high availability storage sub-systems capacity and configuration
- You demonstrate complete understanding of Storage Protocols - CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fiber Channel
- You have strong understanding of Replication technologies such as Zerto
- You have experience with Migrating and relocating Systems and Data
- You demonstrate strong technical knowledge of Cloud Services (AWS, Azure and M365)
- Servers, Operating Systems, and Network Architecture
- You have excellent documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
"Gauges" of Responsibility -
- Provide Security and System patching of Microsoft Servers.
- Assist in automation of daily routine task.
- Provide creation, maintenance and deletion of user accounts, groups, and rights within Microsoft Active Directory and M365 environments.
- Schedules and perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Manage Microsoft Group Policy within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
- Manage DNS, DHCP, WINS, and IIS services within a Microsoft Active Directory environment.
- Provide Configuration and troubleshooting of Windows print servers and queues.
- Provide performance level optimization recommendations.
- Responsible for leading small to mid-size projects to completion and with user satisfaction.
- Perform backup and restoration services for servers.
- Develop and promote standard operating procedures.
- Conduct routine hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies and configuration guidelines.
- Develop and maintain system run books for all responsible systems.
- Provide escalation support for Tier-2/3 Help Desk Analysts.
- Actively participate in problem resolution
- Ability to stay current with industry standards and best practices as it relates to system administration.
- Provide afterhours support on Application upgrades and Maintenance
- Provide configuration, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Vmware ESXi environment at multiple sites.
- Provide configuration, support, maintenance and troubleshooting of Vblock environment.
- Perform updates/upgrades to VMware, Vblock
- Manage delivery of services and resources to meet or exceed service level agreements and key performance indicators
- Own Service Level Agreements agreed between HCL and customer and ensure they are met all the times
- Leading the Disaster Recovery measures and all other ITSM process areas for Open Systems to comply with customer policies
- Strong communication skills.
- Should have ability to work independently.
- To adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies (2.) To provide support for on call escalations and doing incident and problem management (3.) To independently resolve tickets and esnure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team (4.) To ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions or Reopen Cases (5.) Work on value adding activities such Knowledge base update and management, Training freshers, coaching analysts and conducting interview or participation in hiring drives (6.) To participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
