A day in the life (just a few of the things you may do on any given day):
- Administer a Microsoft Windows Server environment (2016, 2019, 2022)
- Administering Windows servers in a hybrid VMware VMC / AWS native environment
- Install, support, test, and troubleshoot applications.
- Harden and secure Windows servers
- Implement Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Windows Server administration of Active Directory
- Manage DNS and DHCP Services
- Perform recurring system heath checks.
- Adhere to standardized incident handling and change control procedures.
- Create and/or maintain related standards documentation, design documentation/templates/diagrams and workflow documents to support Server Operations.
You will excel in this role:
- Applied Insight is seeking a Windows Engineer to join our Server Operations Team in support of a federal client. A successful candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment, work well independently and with a team, and be able to maintain the current Windows Server environment and support modernization projects.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, additional experience considered in lieu of a degree.
- (8) years’ experience as a Windows System Administrator
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
- Demonstrate ability to administer a Microsoft Windows environment (2016, 2019)
- Demonstrate ability to administer Windows servers in a VMware environment.
- Demonstrate vulnerability patching and device hardening.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Identity Management solutions
- Experience modifying and managing Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Experience administering Windows Active Directory
- Ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on-call.

- System Administration experience in AWS and VMware Cloud
- Enjoy a fast-paced environment.

- Can work and interact with others in a structured / team environment.
- Exhibit accuracy and attention to detail.
- Are you an independent problem solver with troubleshooting, decision making, and analytical skills?
- Require limited supervision: Self-motivated, Self-starter, Time management skills.
- Demonstrate ability to install, support, test, and troubleshoot applications.
- Demonstrate knowledge of digital certificate administration
Additional Comments:
- Hybrid – must be local and be able to go onsite.
- On call 24/7
- Position is primarily performed remotely.
