Join our winning team as a Process Safety Leadin East Alton, IL. Additional locations include Oxford, MS and Lake City, Missouri. The Process Safety Lead is responsible for leading the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for the US Winchester facilities located in Oxford, Mississippi; East Alton, Illinois; and Lake City, Missouri. This role reports to the Director of Process Safety.
Process Safety Lead Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure OSHA PSM compliance, including supporting facilities in understanding of the impact of changes and preparedness for changes within Process Safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Process Safety professionals throughout the organization to apply best practices and learnings from other Winchester facilities and from the Chemicals Division to drive consistency and continuous improvement in the management system.
  • Develop and lead implementation of Process Safety Management systems improvement strategy and accountable for effective implementation and health of Process Safety management systems. This includes the PHA work process, management of change work process, as well as all other Process Safety management systems.
  • Engage with site EH&S teams and through independent site visits and active participation in facility Process Safety program elements to gather feedback on culture, engagement, and program effectiveness.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert in applicable Process Safety regulations and Olin Winchester Process Safety management systems.
  • Develop and maintain Process Safety training content and Process Safety management systems.
  • Accountable to influence Process Safety cultural improvements at the facility, including but not limited to application of leading indicators, CAPA effectiveness, and RCA effectiveness.

Process Safety Lead Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor Degree* in Engineering with Chemical or Mechanical Engineering discipline preferred
  • Knowledge of State/Federal OSHA PSM compliance requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of Process Safety experience
  • 10-15 years of work experience in Chemicals or Explosives manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Leadership role experience preferred.
  • Formal training and/or experience with FMEA preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, personal rapport and motivation are required to effectively coach internal staff and work with company leadership and agencies engaged in Process Safety.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze problems and provide accurate solutions using critical thinking skills and constructively resolve conflicts
  • Domestic travel is required. Travel may exceed 30% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US driver's license.
