About the Role
Spiegelworld is looking for a Wig Technician/Principal Dresser to join our team for our brand new production, DiscoShow, at the LINQ in Las Vegas. It is the primary responsibility of the Wig Technician/Principal Dresser to ensure all wigs are well maintained and show ready, assist with costumes and perform ongoing artist support to ensure the finest overall look on stage. The Salary for this role is $1500/week.
Primary Job Duties

  • Repair, construct, clean and prep wigs for the run of the show.
  • Maintain and integrate the costume designer's concepts for the successful operation of the production.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of design for finished wigs and costumes.
  • Attend special costume sessions or wig fittings when appropriate.
  • Communicate as needed with the Wardrobe Supervisor, Stage Management and Design Assistant to evaluate use and function of wigs and wardrobe to ensure a smooth and efficient tech process.
  • Assist performers in applying wigs and facial hair before and during performances while ensuring they are wearing the wig/facial hair correctly according to the production costume design.
  • Assist performers with wardrobe and quick changes before and during performances.
  • Ensure performers are wearing costumes and accessories correctly according to the production costume design.
  • Complete basic sewing repairs before and during performances as needed.
  • Maintain expected levels of craftsmanship and artistic excellence.
  • Performs all other job-related duties as requested.

What You Bring
  • Active knowledge of wigs and duties associated with wig tech including but not limited to:
  • Blocking Lace Front Wigs
  • Pinning and Unpinning Wigs on Performer
  • Working with Synthetic Heat Resistant Wigs
  • Setting Wigs
  • Styling Wigs
  • Wig maintenance such as washing and drying of wigs
  • Proficient at finger waves
  • Proficient at finger curls
  • Proficient with french braid
  • Active knowledge of dresser duties including but not limited to:
  • Working with various fasteners such as zippers, snaps, hook and bar, etc.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to follow sequential instructions
  • Ability to focus on details
  • Basic knowledge of sewing repairs such as attaching a button or mending a tear
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality, including sudden loud noises and smoke from fog effects..
  • Ability to tolerate exposure to chemicals, cleansers and solvents.
  • High level of mobility. Including going up and down stairs.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral form
