Wic - Bilingual Customer Service Representative

ACC is currently hiring a new WIC Customer Service Representative (CSR).  Our CSR’s work closely with the WIC team to provide WIC certification services to caregivers, woman, infants and children.  Customer Service Representatives will also provide a high level of Customer Service when working with clients whether in person or via email or phone.   They will stay up to date on assigned reports necessary to maintain WIC caseload goals. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide call center duties, scheduling WIC appointments and transferring calls to appropriate staff
• Provide backup assistance to Call Center Representative.
• Represent the agency in a professional manner out in the community.
• Perform anthropometric and hemoglobin testing on clients.
• Must be able to work as a team and maintain a cooperative environment.
• Ability to interact with diverse populations.
• Provide culturally competent Customer Service to WIC clients
• Will provide a high level of Customer Service to clients onsite, phone and email communication
• Position may include services in more than one location.
• Answer phone calls, respond to voicemail, return phone calls promptly and schedule appointments
• Check in clients in the MI WIC system in a timely and friendly manner
• Complete the certification of clients in compliance with the criteria set by the State of Michigan WIC Program
• Maintain up-to-date client electronic charts
• Make appropriate client referrals to ancillary health care providers and social services and document in MI WIC 
• Must comply with HIPAA guidelines when working with WIC clients as specified in the Michigan WIC Employee Confidentiality and Compliance Agreement Signature Form
• Review nutrition education materials regularly to reinforce messaging clients receive during their appointments
• Complete individual nutrition education with clients at necessary appointments staying within scope of training.
• Promote breastfeeding with WIC clients within scope of practice
• Maintain EBT WIC card stock in a secure manner
• Run reports daily :  CEBR, ABIR, WIC Health.org, Transfer
• Maintain a positive work environment by communicating respectfully at all times.  
• Work as a team with coworkers
• Communicate any concerns with your assigned work load to your clinic lead in a timely manner
• Maintain office supply inventory and communicate clinic needs to the team lead
• Check email and the WIC Shared Calendar on a daily basis to ensure communication among WIC Team members
• Participate in staff trainings, conferences and staff meetings  
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work space  
• Participate in outreach opportunities in the community 
• Enter and update client data into the Birdseye database
• Perform any other assigned duties or tasks as deemed necessary by the Supervisor

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent required, some college preferred.
• Bilingual Fluency in Arabic and English
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Previous Customer Service experience is preferred.
