You will be taking a 20 strip exam to demonstrate that competency and must get an 80% on the test and correctly identify our 4 lethal rhythms (Asystole, V-Tach, V-fib, and 3rd Degree AV Block)
Attached-(Uploaded to our existing documents) is a study guide and practice test similar to what you will take on Monday.

You must pass with an overall score of 80% and correctly identify 100% of the 4 life-threatening rhythms for your patient population (adult or peds). We are seeking a Vascular Sonographer:
The Vascular Sonographer independently performsprofessional level assessments and a variety of non-invasive studies usingultrasound and related diagnostic technology as appropriate, and records theresults and clinical preliminary impressions as indicated. The results of theseexams are used to direct the course of patient care. This position is a fullperformance Vascular Sonographer with knowledge of peripheral vascular anatomy,physiology and pathology. Thesonographer will evaluate complex disease states using state of the artequipment in arterial and venous testing, and participate in daily maintenanceand care of equipment. All examinationsare performed within standard protocols on adults and geriatric patients, andoccasionally on adolescents and pediatric age groups. The sonographer performs examinations in boththe clinic and hospital settings using both stationary and portableequipment.
The sonographer communicates preliminaryimpressions of examination results to referring physicians both within UWHealth, as well as outside clinics and organizations. There is daily contact with professionals andfamilies. The sonographer must solve problems related to the daily needs ofpatients, the department and/or clinic with professional standards ondocumentation of care and timeliness.
The sonographer serves as a clinical instructorfor the UW School of Ultrasound, and participates in the instruction offellows, residents, and visiting physicians. The sonographer may alsoparticipate in clinical research, and acts as a clinical resource to staff at theirown facility and throughout the system.
Minimum Requirements:
- Facility Requirement:
- Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile including resume/work history, medefis portal and all onboarding disclosures/questionnaires).
- Experience:
- Minimum one year vascular imaging experience required
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
- Prior traveler experience highly preferred
- Licensure and Certification:
- Registered in vascular ultrasound (RVT or RVS).
- BLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY
- Education:
- Successful completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CHAAHEP) approved ultrasound program, Associate Degree in Biological Sciences, Radiology, Ultrasound, or relevant health sciences field.
- References:
- Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years).
- Floating
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the travelers assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.
