Job Title: Wellness Attendant
Department: Jackson County Wellness Center
Job Summary: Assist customers with locating different resources and departments within the hospital; answer phones; sign up new members to the gym; show new members equipment; clean equipment.
Job Qualifications:
A. Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
B. Personal Job- Related Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with the operation of personal computers and a typing speed of 45 wpm. Knowledge of general clerical duties. Maintain confidentiality.
C. Licensure, Registry or Certification: None required.
D. Technical Training: None required.
E. Physical and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require intermittent walking, and standing. Some bending, stooping and reaching is required with the lifting of items up to a weight of 40 pounds. The ability to comprehend and follow routine written or verbal instructions or directions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Answering multi-line telephone:
1. Answers each call promptly and courteously.
2. Provides clearly written messages to all specified employees when a call cannot be completed.
B. Greets and assists visitors:
1. Acknowledges visitors presence and determines the assistance needed.
2. Routes visitors to appropriate place or person.
C. Gym Duties:
1. Give tours of the gym area.
2. Show all gym equipment and use of the gym equipment to members.
3. Check temperature of pool, once when arriving and once before leaving.
4. Walk throughs to make sure gym is clean.
5. Fold and put up gym towels.
6. Sweep gym area if needed.
7. Answer any gym questions members may have or help a member with gym equipment.
D. Technical skills:
1. Ability to comprehend and enter data and from speech and forms.
Other Significant Requirements:
A. Maintain HIPAA required and all other confidentiality while working with confidential matters daily.
B. Provides service direct to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere.
C. Follows safety and infection control policies for the Hospital.
D. Respects the privacy of patients’ needs in all contacts.
E. Monitors the need for quality improvements and participates in the Hospital District Quality Improvement Program.
F. Attends mandatory meetings.
G. Flexibility with schedule changes and times.
