WELLNESS & ALLERGY MANAGER- NYC

Job Summary

We are seeking a Full-Time, Onsite Wellness and Allergy Manager for a corporate client in Manhattan, NY.

The Wellness and Allergy Manager is responsible for all nutrition and wellness information and activity in the assigned accounts. In addition, he /she is responsible for comprehensive management of the FLIK Allergen Management Initiative. He/she develops, supports, coordinates, measures and analyzes allergen management initiatives and manages and evaluates the provision of allergen management education, training and guidance for assigned account and FLIK associates. The Wellness and Allergy Coordinator works collaboratively with district manager, dining services director, chefs and marketing managers to promote and support corporate nutrition goals, objectives, strategies and policies, to implement wellness related educational programs and initiatives, 1:1 counseling and to ensures compliance with FDA nutrition and allergy labeling laws.
Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and implements FLIK and Client nutrition and wellness programs and initiatives in assigned B&I dining location
• Establishes relationships and maintain partnerships with client health and wellness team; facilitates joint wellness initiatives and calendars
• Assess client, customer and operator needs and current status with regard to allergen management and provision of information for food allergic guests; Customizes and coordinates Compass Group allergen management programs and initiatives to meet specific short term client needs.
• Contributes to or participates in quarterly business reviews for assigned accounts
• Customizes & presents materials for health fairs, lunch and learns, program launches, client meetings, café wellness events, tastings, etc.
• Provides 1:1 nutrition counseling at assigned site
• Participates in menu and recipe development as needed
• Provides nutrition analysis using Webtrition, our web-based application for menu planning, production tools, nutritional analysis, and costing
• Wellness Coordinator will also have a hands-on approach to hospitality, foodservice and the retail side of the business
• Supports and assists unit managers as needed which might include customer service, preparing or serving food, assistance with catering and holding associates accountable to standards
• Leads in-field implementation and on-going wellness training for assigned B&I dining locations
• Conducts regular audits and site visits of assigned account to assess account performance against wellness standards. Develops corrective action plans, monitors and implements corrective action on WELLNESS & sustainability standards, nutrition policies, labeling laws and food allergy and celiac disease training
• Ensures accuracy of all nutrition and allergy information posted in assigned accounts as well as information provided on dining center websites and kiosks

Qualifications:

• Registered Dietitian- Commission on Dietetic Registration and NY State Licensure required
• Bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition or related field of study, Master of Science in Nutrition or a related field optional
• 1+ years professional experience
• Experience in allergen labeling (packaged foods or restaurant) strongly preferred
• Project Management experience strongly preferred
• Serve-Safe certification required, but can obtain once hired
• Strong presentation and time management skills; leadership skills, and outstanding interpersonal skills
• Culinary and/ or foodservice experience preferred
