Job Summary

Alaska Overview
ConocoPhillips is Alaska’s largest crude oil producer and largest owner of exploration leases, with approximately 1.2 million net undeveloped acres at year-end 2022. The company produced an average of 200 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022. ConocoPhillips has major ownership interests in two of North America’s largest legacy conventional oil fields, both located on Alaska’s North Slope: Kuparuk, which the company operates, and Prudhoe Bay. Additionally, ConocoPhillips operates several fields on the Western North Slope. The company has an ownership interest in the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS) and owns/operates the Polar Tankers fleet.
Description
ConocoPhillips Alaska is currently hiring a Well Integrity Specialist reporting to the Intervention & Integrity Engineering Supervisor. This position will be one of four dedicated Well Integrity personnel based in the Anchorage office responsible for the compliance of ConocoPhillips operated wells on the North Slope with applicable external regulations and internal standards and policies.

Job Description

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Daily monitoring and facilitation of diagnostics for potential Well Integrity related issues
  • Generation of wellwork procedures to appropriately diagnose and repair suspect wells
  • Timely reporting of annular communication (AnnComm) issues to regulators and internal stakeholders
  • Daily communication and collaboration with field personnel with respect to emerging Well Integrity issues
  • Monitoring, scheduling, and recordkeeping of Well Integrity diagnostic, regulatory, waiver, and subsidence compliance testing
  • Educate internal stakeholders on Well Integrity importance and the internal standards that guide our operational philosophies such that CPAI protects the health and safety of personnel as well as the environment
  • Verify that daily diagnostic operations comply with all statutory, policy, and program requirements. Ensure regulatory approvals are in place prior to operations
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required to the regulatory agencies
  • Drive consistent application of our internal policies, capture continuous improvement opportunities, and support updating the Well Operating Guidelines (WOG), Well Integrity Testing and Evaluation Guidelines (WITEG), and the Downhole Diagnostic (DHD) Manual as required
  • Consistently maintain the AnnComm database as the gold source for Well Integrity issues. Ensure appropriate documentation is also captured in IP-21, WellTRAK, WellView
  • Work with Supply Chain (materials, logistics) group as required to order and maintain necessary equipment

Qualifications

Basic/Required:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • 5+ years Exploration & Production industry experience
  • 3+ years drilling & wells experience
  • Beginner level proficiency in MS O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Beginner level proficiency with WellView

Preferred:

  • 3 + years well intervention or integrity experience
  • 1+ years experience in cold weather or arctic environments
  • Intermediate level knowledge of downhole well completions and wellhead designs
  • Intermediate level knowledge of well service work- Slickline, Eline, Coil, Downhole Diagnostics/Pumping
  • Advanced level knowledge of safety, environmental and ethical standards
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills
  • Invites dialogue to gain a shared understanding and influences with confidence to drive performance and achieve business results
  • Builds strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals
  • Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
