The welder is responsible for ensuring quality standards are being met while always upholding safety principles and guidelines. The welder will be cross trained in other areas and departments and may be asked to assist those areas when needed to meet customer needs and demands.

Essential Job Functions

• The ability to perform (or learn) the following processes:
  • Fixture Weld Inner Assemblies
  • Assembly of components
  • Insulation Wrapping
  • End of Cell Checking Fixtures
  • Air testing
• Set up and operate assigned machines to produce finished product in a final assembly
• Read and understand blueprints
• Accurately utilize measuring devices such as measuring tape and calipers
• Utilize hand tools, power tools and other special equipment within department
• Read and understand job instructions
• Other jobs as assigned

Knowledge, skills and abilities required

• Knowledge of weld equipment and ability to adjust and solve problems as needed.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to do basic math, including decimals and percentages.
• Must be able to adjust weld machine as necessary.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Education and Experience Required

• Preference for at least one year working in manufacturing environment.
• Ability to pass Level 1 weld test and preference for
• Must successfully complete a weld test as part of the screening process.

Physical Requirements

• Performing these duties will involve twisting, turning, lifting, pulling, or pushing physical objects, standing, stooping and bending, walking, and standing for up to 10 hours per shift.
• Continuous mental and visual attention is required.
• Requires constant alertness and attention to detail.
• Work involves likelihood of irregularity of work schedule and/or overtime to meet customer demands.
• Working in hot, cold, noisy work areas and exposure to odors, fumes, and dust.
• Lift 1 - 30 lbs. consistently.
• Lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• PPE's include safety glasses, ear plugs, weld gear, and steel-toed boots.
