Description
Welder/Hose Assembly Technician
Summary
Fabricate and weld metal hoses from 1/4" to 12" in diameter of various lengths with infinite end fitting variations. Must determine correct hose and fittings, their locations, cutoffs, and prepare hose according to work orders/customer specifications by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Select proper hose and prep to customer specifications for TIG welding (in some cases must be able to interpret drawings).
Prepare end fittings by grinding, cutting, or using a lathe
Clean and degrease fittings using wire wheels, grinders, or polishers.
Test and tag hoses and fill out test reports in Microsoft Word.
Buff or paint assemblies according to specifications.
Print labels and/or stamp metal tags.
Put away stock.
Weld assemblies.
Prioritize workloads.
Maintain Shop Schedule.
Build and test composite hoses.
Use Variable Crimper.
Operates forklifts, scissor lift, pallet jack, chop saw, band saw, lathe, snips, cut-off tools, grinders, polishers, hoist, and other basic hand tools.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); TIG welding experience preferred.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills Individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Individuals should have the ability to become forklift certified.
Other Qualifications
Some overtime is required. Must have the ability to be on call. Must be flexible to work in other areas of the shop as needed. Should have high mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
