As a 1ST Shift Welder Apprentice earning $19.95 an hour at Caterpillar - North Little Rock, you will be part of a dedicated team in the fabrication of Motor Grader and Medium Wheel Loader products that help our customers build a better world! Inside the 725,000 square-foot air-conditioned facility you will work with a team of fabricators and manufacturing engineers to complete daily build requirements. Day-to-day tasks include movement of structures utilizing an overhead crane, loading frames into tack welding or robotic stations, robot preparation & finish welding and adding necessary hardware attachment to each structure.
Caterpillar - North Little Rock utilizes a variety of welding processes within the facility. We have 15 robotic welding cells and over 30 different weld stations to complete daily builds. As a fabricator you will be trained to utilize GMAW/GTAW/FCAW . Candidates MUST pass Welder Qualification Tests at the completion of a Caterpillar provided 6-Week Weld School:
Basic Qualifications :
Basic Knowledge of Welding Fundamentals
Available to work from 5:00AM to 3:00PM during the introductory training period (6-Weeks in Weld School & 3-Weeks OJT)
Ability to Work Safely & Wear Required Personal Protective Equipment
Ability to Follow Standard Work Instructions
Ability to Work Overtime to Support Production Demands
Top Candidates Will Also Have :
Welding experience and/or successful completion of a Technical or Trade School Welding Course
Experience utilizing GMAW
Ability to Read Blueprints
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, kneel, squat, or stand for prolonged periods
Ability to climb, work from and descend ladders/platforms/steps
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
