About the Role

The Assembly Maintenance Welding Technician will provide technical support within the welding function, across the entire department. This is including but not limited to Laser Welding and Brazing, GMAW Mig Welding, Projection Welding, and Resistance Spot Welding process(s), to support production and quality, and carry out the assignments and responsibilities given to them by the Assembly Maintenance Manager, Assembly Maintenance Supervisor, Weld Engineer, or Weld Team Leader.

Your Responsibilities

  • Set up and program production welding equipment and production machinery by installing and testing resistance electrodes welding fixtures, tooling and other parts as required.
  • Clean and change weld electrodes and performs general maintenance on equipment to ensure acceptable working conditions and start-up requirements.
  • Responsible for installing, maintaining and upkeep of resistance welding programs, stepper programs, and adaptive feedback.
  • Monitor quality of welds, and remain trained in all phases of resistance weld troubleshooting.
  • Maintain Mig Welding equipment, and remain trained on all types of Mig Welding defects, root causes, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in maintaining laser welding and laser brazing equipment, and remain trained on all types of laser welding defects, root causes, and corrective actions.

Who we are looking for

  • Technical Associates Degree preferred (Mechatronics, Welding, etc.) or equivalent automated manufacturing experience required.
  • Technical knowledge will be demonstrated through a technical assessment prior to hire, lateral move, or promotion.
  • Welding Certifications

Your preferred qualifications

  • Robotics experience preferred, ability to make basic program edits and teach points is preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of automated manufacturing technical weld experience required.

Pay range: $27.95 - $36.92 per hour
