Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Weld Supervisor and NDT Level II Technician in National City, CA.
Summary: This position supervises shop personnel in the welding of pipe and other metal components together to design specifications. QA /NDT qualifications required, as well as experience in layout and blueprint reading using SWRMC approved welding and brazing techniques with a variety of arc and gas welding equipment. Proficient in welding and brazing as required by supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Pipe Shop Foreman in the supervision of daily operations onboard Naval Vessels.
- Track and update welder qualifications.
- Supervise, monitor and assist Pipefitters/Welders as required by Foreman.
- Review OQE for accuracy prior to submittal to QA Dept.
- NDT Level II qualified, perform NDT's when required with Code 135.
- Updated weld certs, P-14, P-15, P-2, P-3 weld joints, utilized as backup pipe welder as directed by Pipe Shop Foreman.
- Updated braze Quals, utilized as a braze welder as directed by Pipe Shop Forman.
- Check fit up of PPG systems prior to weld/brazing evolutions.
- Proficient in blue print reading.
- Supervise and monitor Fitting and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material.
- Examine work pieces for defects and measure workpieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
- Operate tools of the trade, sawzalls, grinders, and various other tools.
- Ensures shop safety and housekeeping are followed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years work related experience.
- Minimum 3 years specific experience as NDT Level II Inspector.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to U.S Military bases and shipyards for performance of job duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and electronically.
- Must qualify for Craftsman PQS 301.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

- Able operate in confined spaces, noisy environment, extreme height, heavy Industrial conditions, high traffic areas, office environment, meetings and multiple locations.

- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy
- Manual and finger dexterity; able to grasp, manipulate, assemble small objects
Pay Range:
The pay range for this role is $34.00 To $37.50 hourly. This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
