Manages the operation of the Library during weekend and evening hours during the academic year; supervises weekend/evening work study students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Opens and closes the library building according to established procedures
- Maintains order and safety in the library during open hours and acts as building supervisor; enforces library policies and procedures
- Supervises weekend/evening library work study students, assigning tasks as appropriate
- Operates circulation desk: charges and discharges library materials, collects fines, reserves equipment, registers on-site borrowers, etc.
- Answers the main library telephone and responds to callers’ needs
- Assists in the setup and use of equipment in the Library Auditorium
- Assists with basic discovery and access to library resources
- Answers basic procedural and directional questions
- Provides basic computer/printer support for student lab computers
- Performs other duties and special projects that are essential to efficient library operations
- Assists with library programming or events occurring during scheduled shifts
- Cooperates with others in the timely and effective completion of assigned responsibilities
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School diploma required; bachelor degree preferred
- One year office experience, preferably in an academic library
- Supervisory experience

Work Schedule:
This is a 9-month position (August 15 – May 15). It requires a combination of 1-2 weekend shifts and 1-2 evening shifts, totaling 20-24 hours per week in three shifts. The set weekly schedule is negotiated from the following openings:
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Saturday
2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Sunday
2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, Monday-Thursday
