Form of workKTVB, the Tegna station, in beautiful Boise, Idaho is searching for a dynamic and enterprising Weekend Anchor/MSJ to join our team. We are seeking a skilled journalist who can produce and anchor weekend newscasts. In addition, you will also be asked to fill-in anchor on various shows and be a part of our aggressive continuous coverage surrounding big events. Demonstrating that you have experience, command on the desk, and the ability to think on your feet during breaking news is a huge plus.
This position includes reporting three days a week. For that reason, we are looking for a journalist who is deeply invested in the local community and is a natural competitor who wants to break lead stories. They must be an excellent storyteller and committed to developing sources.
Responsibilities:
- Produce and anchor weekend evening newscasts and take on leadership role in newscast production. Fill in as an anchor where needed across all platforms.
- Report in field as a multi-skilled journalist and develop compelling enterprise content that can lead a newscast.
- Foster and develop strong news sources.
- Write and post daily on digital platforms.
- Participate in promotional appearances and represent KTVB at community events.
- Journalism or Mass Communication degree with 2-3 years of experience preferred.
- Possess a clear understanding of the tenets of professional, ethical journalism.
- Compelling on-camera delivery with the ability to ad lib accurately.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule under tight deadlines.
- Creative writing and live reporting skills.
- Must be able to report in a broad range of styles with good on-air presentation.
- Must have ability to shoot, write, and edit broadcast and digital content.
- Strong social media presence.
- Experience with ENPS and Edius a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Travel: Rarely: less than 10%

Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
