Poppins Productions is seeking to bring onboard Website & IT Specialist to join our team in providing assistance for our corporate office and sister organizations, Poppins Extensions Plus and Poppins Urban Podcast. We are looking for a knowledgeable and dependable individual with an ability to be innovative and work well under pressure, especially as it relates to the entertainment and beauty worldWEBSITE & IT SPECIALIST interns are responsible for creating, designing, and maintaining websites for businesses, individuals, or organizations. They offer a wide range of services, including writing, designing, editing, proofing, site maintenance, consulting, installing website updates, and fixing bugs.
Job Description:
Their duties include but not limited to:
- Plan, implement, manage, monitor, and upgrade the organization's and clients website(s)
- Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues
- Identify and respond to all website security breaches
- Create and customize reports to provide to leaders and department heads
- Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures
- Update HTML, CSS and JavaScript regularly
- Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information
- Create appropriate website content aligned with the organization’s strategy
- Ensure website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans
- Collaborate with other departments to provide recommendations
- Create, develop, and maintain reports
- Improve the User Experience of the website regularly
- Collaborate with all staff and management to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards
- Create strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics
- Ensure full compliance on the website with all laws and regulations
- Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and monitor competitor websites
- Provide support to internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to updating internal website.
Qualifications:
- Associates, Bachelors, or currently enrolled into an accredited college or university (preferred and but not required)
- Previous coursework and volunteer experience and/or 1-2 years of professional work experience will be considered as well
- 2 years of work experience as a website manager (prefer but not required)
- Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript.Expert knowledge of Macromedia suite, Adobe suite, Content Management Systems, and W3C Web standards
- Experience using Wix, Shopify, and other commerce sites
- Great understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC)
- Ability to troubleshoot website issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills.
- Excellent content creation and writing skills.
- Fantastic time management skills with the ability to multitask.
