Objective
The Survey Instrument Operator is responsible for assisting the survey party chief in managing the activities of survey throughout various job locations.
Job Duties
- Complete tasks utilizing Survey Instruments and equipment per the direction of the Survey Party Chief
- Maintain and properly care for Survey Instruments and equipment
- Maintain a highly organized work area and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Other unlisted duties will be assigned
Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years or experience as a Survey Instrument Operator in heavy highway and bridge projects
- Previous experience with Trimble, Topcon Total Stations, and other Survey Instruments
- Be able to communicate in English via verbal and written communications
- Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind
- Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
