Our widely published company is headquartered in a fast-paced design office and
manufacturing facility in LA. We design, develop, and manufacture a variety of façade systems, interior wall and ceiling systems, custom art installations on a full range of state-of-the-art equipment, in our 100,000sf facility. Our growing team is seeking organized, and proactive candidates to fill the role of Web & Software Developer I-II-III. Projects are constantly changing; quantities range from enhancement and maintenance of Arktura.com, to one off prototypes and internal interfaces. You will be joining a fun, energetic and motivated team.

Overview:

Under general supervision from the Director of Technology and Director of Marketing - perform web and application development, support, and maintenance through prototyping, business/workflow analysis, application integration, QA testing, and project management supporting the ArkITech and Marketing departments. This shared role offers opportunities for exposure to diverse development projects and set out to enhance efficiencies between Marketing and Technology, to maximize usability and automation within Arktura and its brand. The Software & Web Developer will work with a team of roughly 10 developers and a diverse marketing team of over 12 spread remotely across 3 continents.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work with the Marketing team to enhance the design and usability of publicly facing user experiences including Arktura.com and Arktura’s Sample Store, bringing Figma concepts to reality in Wordpress and WooCommerce based sites via content additions using CMS platforms.
• Work with APIs to build custom integrations as needed, including but not limited to Pardot/Salesforce, Shipmonk, WooCommerce, Syteline, ClickUp, and Airtable
• Apply a combination of skills in programming (namely SQL, C#, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript), aesthetics (collaborating closely with internal UI and graphic designers), and usability, to deliver elegant user interfaces for both internal and external applications.
• Opportunities to contribute to our state-of-the-art manufacturing functions, developing custom software solutions that integrate with robotronics, fiber lasers, punch presses, multi-axis knife cutting equipment, and CNC machines.

Web & Software Developer I

The entry-level class of the series. Initially, incumbents will participate in website support, business/workflow analysis, and some project management responsibility tailored to improving the Arktura.com web experience and the internal employee shop floor technology integration efforts. The initial level of this series is focused on learning the business and developing the technical skills required to expand their knowledge of Arktura’s two technical regimes – the Marketing side using Wordpress, WooCommerce, and related web authoring languages themselves in conjunction with the business platforms like Salesforce – as well as the Technology side using MSSQL, C#, and the correspond tech stack platforms. It is critical at this stage to understand both holistic processes from a customer’s quote-to-ship-to-install perspective and also from an employee’s order-to-manufacture-to-ship perspective. This level of the series would require extensive daily oversight and review of workloads, paired with extensive training and professional development.

Web & Software Developer II

This is the fully qualified, journey level class of this series. Competent to perform a variety of analytical and development duties, this position is characterized by the presence of general guidelines from which to make decisions independently and the availability of supervision in non-routine circumstances. Positions at this level require experience in coordination with both application developer efforts and marketing staff members to provide project management support at the departmental/enterprise level, have knowledge specifically of Arktura company standard structured life cycle development methodologies, and with focus on the improvement of existing processes which may have been successful at previous companies. This level of the series would require weekly strategic check-ins along with brief daily standup meetings focusing on overcoming roadblocks.

Web & Software Developer III

This is the highly qualified, senior level of this series. Competent to perform a wide range of analytical, process evaluation, and development duties; this position requires in-depth knowledge of all Arktura business software and how it is used in conjunction within its tech stack. Additionally, the relationships of each department's usage of that software with their processes and the places in need for improvement with tailored training curriculum for the improvement of that process. Positions in this class require an elevated level of discernment, initiative, and experience in relaying application development requirements that have a focus on business process re-engineering at the departmental / enterprise level, based on a long history of tried and true implementation strategies and practices with real world measurable positive outcomes.

Individuals with the minimum prior app / web dev implementation experience may start as low as $65K annually at the Web & Software Developer I level. Fully qualified Web & Software Developer III candidates would earn in excess of $100K annually.

Required Skills:

• Fluent in English
• BS, BA in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, MIS, or relevant degree
• 4 years (Web & Software Developer I), 6 years (Web & Software Developer II), 8 years (Web & Software Developer III) MINIMUM proven professional work experience in a collaborative setting, building custom user experiences and/or web applications using languages as described previously.
• Experience with custom-developed software applications in the manufacturing industry a plus
• Experience with SCRUM / Agile methodology (Jira, ClickUp) is a plus
• Experience with QA and QA testing, acceptance criteria, and related processes is a plus
• Experience with GitHub and working with a team on shared dependencies is a plus
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team setting
• High attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organization skills
• Los Angeles based candidates required as local face-to-face collaboration and shopfloor technology integrations require a physical presence at least a few days a week

The estimated base salary range for this role is $65,000.00-$100,000.00 a year. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors
