Salary Range: $58.5600 - $90.0100 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Web Applications Developer is responsible for the design, development, maintenance and support of Hoag’s web-based information systems. The Web Applications Developer will collaborate with members of the patient care, business and Information Technology teams to develop and implement web-based programs and portal solutions. He/she will evaluate system performance problems, customer requests for system changes and requests for new WEB APPLICATIONS and participates in the timely resolution of these activities. The Web Applications Developer will ensure that sound theoretical and technical criteria are used in implementation of web-based information systems, utilizing the appropriate resources. The Web Applications Developer is responsible for assuring the IT needs support the goals and objectives of the customer as well as the business needs of the organization.
The Lead will manage system enhancement requests directly with the vendor. Leads and/or facilitates system design, validation and/or remediation sessions. Leads large web projects and functions as a subject matter expert on complex, cross-functional projects. Assists with the development of ongoing maintenance support procedures for the web team and/or IT department. Assists the management team with strategic and tactical planning activities.
Education and Experience
- Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology
- Minimum three (3) years web programming/development experience and/or three (3) years’ experience with patient and physician portals; minimum three (3) years’ experience managing medium to large web projects
- Advanced knowledge of multiple web development and/or portal technologies and tools, including ASP.NET, VB.NET and/or C#, Data Access (ADO.NET), AJAX, Visual Studio based on Windows Server Platforms, etc
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming techniques, Microsoft SQL Server database platform, XML, Search Technologies & Tools, and Internet Information Server (IIS), etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field preferred
- Two (2) or more years’ experience working in a Health Care Web Services department, preferably within an acute care environment preferred
- Experience with patient and physician portals, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server platform technologies, design and development, Web Services, MVC, Silverlight, Team Foundation Server, Agile Development SDLC, classic ASP and Content Management Systems (e.g. DNN) preferred
