The mission of Vanguard's Enterprise Advice group is to be Vanguard’s center for excellence for thought leadership and methodology development focused on managing individuals’ wealth to achieve the best chance of success in meeting their long-term financial goals.
We lead research projects to enhance existing methodology and develop innovative Wealth Planning strategies backed by thorough quantitative research to ensure Vanguard’s financial advice remains at the forefront of the industry. We partner with relevant subject matter authorities and internal partners to ensure our advice methodology meets client and business needs. We serve as an authority to internal and external audiences on sophisticated financial planning issues.
In this role, you will:
Lead the development of changes to Vanguard's Wealth Planning Methodology. Partner with subject matter authorities to design solutions to meet changing business needs, regulatory requirements, and to position Vanguard's advice ahead of external competitive developments.
Serve as a guide on the application of Vanguard's Wealth Planning Methodology in the development of client investment strategies and construction of portfolios. Contribute to overall Wealth Planning Methodology development.
Research, conduct analyses, and provide recommended changes to investments, portfolio construction, and Wealth Planning guidance. Ensure compliance with Vanguard Wealth Planning Methodology and investment guidelines while applying knowledge of the external business environment and its implications on Vanguard's strategic direction.
Serve as a subject matter authority for crew and leaders. Develop and conduct Wealth Planning Methodology training activities for all crew delivering advice to clients.
Develop an expert-level understanding of overall financial markets and the related legal, tax, and regulatory issues that impact Vanguard's Wealth Planning Methodology. Support investments-related projects to analyze and research opportunities to enhance client investment strategies.
Participate in special projects and perform other duties, as assigned.
What it takes:
Solid understanding of financial planning and portfolio construction.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Financial planning or related fields strongly preferred.
Python coding skills preferred.
Experience developing and using Stochastic Quantitative Models preferred.
Detailed knowledge of US Tax Code preferred.
