In Wealth Management Solutions we provide lending solutions, utilizing our Firm's balance sheet, to help our clients meet their goals across the Private Bank, J.P. Morgan Securities and Chase Wealth Management. The Lending Portfolio consists mainly of loans to individuals, Personal Investment Companies, Trusts, and loans secured by Private Equity Fund LPs, consisting of the following categories of exposure:
- Securities Based Lending (SBL) - credits secured by diversified marketable securities
- Portfolio Line of Credit (Eligible Margin Loan - EML) - credits secured by diversified marketable securities, lending values in the US that align with Reg T guidelines with 3rd party legal opinions supporting bankruptcy stay protection (this results in a lower risk product that allows for netting collateral against the loan exposure, leading to minimal RWA)
- Custom Lending - complex credits based on individual creditworthiness; includes less liquid or concentrated collateral and unsecured
Lending Solutions (PB, JPMS, CWM) is a billion-dollar revenue business with high growth potential and attractive metric for future growth. The overall portfolio is made up of high-quality loans.
Job Description
This is a VP level Product Owner role. The Loan Execution Product Owner role is responsible for managing the product lifecycles of a suite of applications to process loan origination and amendments, including initiation, underwriting, legal agreements, booking, and funding.
Given the end-to-end scope of loan execution, you will be responsible for driving strategy and influencing stakeholders across the front office, risk, operations, and technology. You will play a critical role in ensuring the suite of applications and underlying product areas meet the Global Lending Objectives and Key Results, which are business expansion, client experience, speed, efficiency, and complete transparency of the execution process.
In addition, you will be responsible for partnering closely with technology to ensure that the development, testing, and architecture are aligned with the firm's longer-term strategies and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Own and refine the loan execution product strategy, vision, roadmap, and key results
- Partner with the font office, risk, operations, and technology to ensure product areas are appropriately support in accordance with the agile framework
- Provide executive leadership with real time status of the execution product and progress towards key results
- Work with design to ensure all underlying product areas are meeting the firm's standards and resulting in a better user experience
- Track and drive adoption of strategic channels through metrics and feedback
- Make strategic decisions to drive expected outcomes
- Resolve escalations from underlying product areas
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of financial services experience in Lending, Asset Management, Wealth Management, and/or Private Banking
- Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external partners at all levels
- A proven track record of positive partnership with technology development teams
- Strong organization and execution capabilities, including leading initiatives and cross functional teams
- Experience as a product owner and familiarity with the agile development methodology
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively synthesize, organize and communicate complex information
