Waterjet / Plasma Operator

Summary/Objective
We are currently searching for a Water Jet and Plasma Operator to join our Fabrication team at our Houma, LA location. This position is responsible for completing tasks and activities associated with programming and operating cutting equipment (water jet and plasma) as assigned by Shop Foreman and Fabrication Manager.

Essential Functions

• Works collaboratively with all members of the fabrication crew.
• Familiar with the full scope of the job and is able to execute tasks with minimal or no supervision.
• Responsible for maintaining an organized, clean, and safe work area in conjunction with company policies.
• Ability to communicate professionally and knowledgeably with the Fabrication Manager, Shop Foreman, all fabrication personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret field drawings and blue prints, then program and operate cutting systems according to such documents.
• Performs all aspects of equipment operations including data entry, programming, preparing materials, equipment start up, operation, and equipment shut down/cleaning.
• Performs computer programming for duct fittings in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Performs basic maintenance on equipment and informs Shop Foreman of any major maintenance needs.
• Ability to complete all required paperwork associated with job in an accurate and timely manner including but not limited to time sheets, service orders, and pull from inventory sheets.
• Ability to anticipate and solve delays, problems, and errors associated with project and report to Shop Foreman.
• Ability to assist and train Equipment Operator II.
• Ability to listen and complete tasks assigned by Shop Foreman.
• Ability to operate large equipment when necessary (example forklift).
• Ability to own and operate all tools necessary to perform job duties
• Performs other duties of HVAC fabrication (duct and equipment) when cutting jobs are not ongoing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $24.00 per hour
