Water Utility Worker

Job Overview:
Downs PSD is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Utility Worker. As a Utility Worker, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the efficient operation of our PSD. This is a vital role that ensures the smooth functioning of our operations.

Requirements:

• - Read master meters and customer meters
• - Repair and install water lines, taps and meters
• - Maintain right of ways, tanks, and valve areas
• - Assist with general maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and organizing work areas
• - Operate and maintain equipment and machinery as required
• - Perform routine inspections to identify any maintenance or repairs needed
• - Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking supplies
• - Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• - Collaborate with team members to complete tasks efficiently and effectively
• - Be willing to work overtime and be on call

Qualifications:

• - Valid Class D driver’s license or be willing to upgrade to a Class D license
• - High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required
• - Negative drug and alcohol tests required
• - Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
• - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• - Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• - Basic knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance
• - Ability to lift heavy objects when necessary
