Our Water Sector Engineer position offers several ways that you can use your water quality or water resourcesand supply expertise to contribute to the Water Sector – ultimately impacting public health. We offer hybrid schedule and 9/80 work schedule.
This is NOT a fully remote position. AWWA’s hybrid schedule is 3 days in the Denver office and 2 days working remote.
Technical and Educational Resources
AWWA is the go-to source for technical content – you’ll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise by developing conference technical programs, educational materials and working with subject matter experts on creating manuals of practice, handbooks, reports, videos and other materials for use in the Water Sector.
Volunteer Management
AWWA has over 50,000 active volunteers from all aspects of drinking water, wastewater, reuse, and storm water. In this role, you will serve as AWWA staff liaison to several volunteer committees working with them to achieve Association goals related to technical, managerial, and financial aspects of the Water Sector. You will serve as point of contact to membership on selected water topics.
Position requires approximately 15% travel. AWWA offers flexible work schedules including an optional Flex Friday schedule and/ a Hybrid Remote Work policy.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or water-related discipline with 2-4 years of technical experience in drinking water, wastewater, or related environmental field required that demonstrates a broad range of technical, scientific, or engineering knowledge.
Experience working with volunteers and/or committees strongly preferred.
Successful candidate will demonstrate:
Ability to initiate, prioritize, plan, and execute duties/responsibilities independently with minimal supervision
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills
Professional demeanor and excellent customer relationship building
Proficiency in MS Office 365 business applications
Targeted pay range is $92,000-$95,000/year or commensurate with experience and is paired with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
