KEY OBJECTIVE(S)
The main purpose of the Aquatics and Attractions Manager is:

  • Responsible for leading the training and development aspects of the aquatics program to include the operation of 20+ attractions and 250+ aquatics team members. Ensure the highest-level training and preparedness of team members to ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests and encouraging a positive work environment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain a safe work environment for both team members and guests through effective training, policies and procedures and analysis of incident reports.
  • Maintain a park presence through frequent contact with team members and guests while assessing needs in each location to include staffing, maintenance, line speed, cleanliness, signage, ADA, and safety.
  • Conduct effective and regular conversations with the Waterpark leadership staff to ensure individual development and goals are being met through company performance management tools.
  • Perform supervisory tasks of a team, including resolving conflict, coaching and developing others, promoting teamwork, and performance management.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly, effective, efficient manner and acting as the point of contact for any major events or activities.
  • Communicate with Human Resources on the interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management of the aquatics staff.
  • Maintain training and aquatic certification records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Work with Waterpark Trainers and ensure the instruction of Ellis & Associates (E&A) aquatic courses and in-service training programs, ensuring a well-trained, motivated staff.
  • Ensure safety audits are being conducted regularly and records of all audits (internal and external) are organized and easily accessible.
  • Monitoring daily Waterpark cleanliness and request cleaning/maintenance support as required to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, housekeeping, IT, marketing, group sales and other departments for facility related events.
  • Oversee payroll functions for team members ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Continuously evaluate attractions for efficiencies and adjust operations when necessary.
  • Implement expense and labor budgets for the attractions areas.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must possess, or be able to complete, Ellis & Associates Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor certifications.
  • Must possess, or be able to complete, First Aid, CPR/PR, and AED certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a waterpark environment
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience
  • Ability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to multitask, remain extremely organized and be able to prioritize
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office)
