Individuals in this position perform and complete unskilled and semi-skilled municipal building, water, sewer, road, drainage, and other maintenance and construction work. Included are assignments such as snow and ice control operations, street cleaning, seasonal clearing and cleaning operations; water, sewer, road, and drainage systems and facilities maintenance, repair, and construction; trench hand grading and pipe laying; curb laying, street repairs and paving; improving traffic and pedestrian access and sight distances; grounds maintenance, vegetation trimming, cutting, and removal; back filling, loading, and transporting; and implementing job site and work safety procedures.

- Performs such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position must have graduated from high school or have earned a graduate equivalent diploma (GED), have a working knowledge of how to care for, operate and use tools and equipment effectively and efficiently and have not less than two (2) years’ experience in construction or maintenance work.
New hires must obtain before the end of their probationary period and incumbents must possess a valid commercial driver’s license, class B and have no offenses which would prohibit or restrict any insurance carrier providing coverage to the City. Must possess a NH Water Distribution License Grade I, and a NH Sewer Collection License Grade I, or the ability to acquire appropriate licensing within eighteen (18) months from the date of original appointment. Additional certifications and licensing may be required.
