Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including replacing parts, conducting routine maintenance, and diagnosing equipment malfunctions;
- Assess chemicals used in the facility to provide dosing and neutralization processes to treat and/or dispose of wastewater contaminants;
- Identify contaminations in the Wastewater Treatment system: adjust chemical treatment processes and address regulatory compliance concerns;
- Ensure contaminants are removed from the water before disposal;
- Monitor equipment readings, conduct tests, and report any issues to senior staff;
- Evaluate the current operating parameters of the paint booth including airflow rates, temperature, humidity levels, and pressure differentials;
- Determine the desired operating conditions for the paint booth based on the specific requirements of the painting process and the type of coatings being applied;
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-5 years of Wastewater Treatment experience;
- Experience within the automotive paint manufacturing industry is required;
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or the sciences;
- Strong understanding of the equipment and processes involved in Wastewater Treatment within a automotive paint setting;
- Demonstrated knowledge of the various chemicals used in the manufacturing paint process;
- Problem-solver with a strong attention to detail;
- Strong time-keeping and organizational skills;
- Clear oral and written communication skills;
- Strong commitment to adhere by safety protocols and procedures in the plant and regarding hazardous materials;
- Ability to commute to Fort Valley, GA for work.
