Job Description

Pay Range: $22.50 to 34.00 per hour (see positions below). 

Hiring for Wastewater!! 

Water Maintenance Tech-Plant 1 (Nights)- 

Pay Range: $22.50 per hour.

  • Monitor process and perform routine maintenance, chemical custodial stewardship sampling, testing of chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain quality documentation, to include sampling and testing of chemicals, inventory, and system trouble shooting, filters replacement, repair and rebuilding of pumps, preventive maintenance, chemical transferring and onsite chemical custodial and reporting. 
  • Perform daily log entries pertaining to daily activities.
  • Maintain current operation instructions and procedures by updating as new information is given and provide input for these instructions and procedures pertaining to daily operations and safety.
  • Perform, monitor and evaluate compliance with company/facility regulations other than those incorporated into daily routines.
  • At end of shift secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and complete and maintain work records.

BNR Waste Water Tech II - Plant 1 (Nights) -

Pay Rate: $34.00 per hour.

  • Responsible for operating, monitoring, controlling, testing and troubleshooting a Class III Activated Sludge, Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR), wastewater treatment facility in compliance with Foster Farms' California Regional Water Quality Control Board.
  • Waste Discharge Requirements and Monitoring and Reporting Program. 
  • This position must also maintain appropriate records to demonstrate compliance.
  • Must have a State Wastewater certification

Wastewater Operator -Plant 2 (Nights)-

Pay Rate: $22.75 per hour.

  • Control wastewater treatment systems to ensure the effluent water to the industrial ponds are within the defined limits.
  • Control sludge de-watering equipment to insure maximum separation of solids, and water.
  • Interpret samples drawn from DAF cells, solids tank, effluent water, centrifuge and belt presses and make adjustments to chemical feed and process systems to produce desired results.
  • Enter collected data into the computer.
  • Accurately record inventory of DAF chemicals on a rotation basis
  • Truck spot sludge truck periodically
  • Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to ensure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required
  • Maintain safety, housekeeping and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties
  • Other duties as assigned

Wastewater Mechanic-(Nights)-

Pay Rate: $23.50 - 31.75 per hour. (Nights)

  • Wastewater maintenance mechanic is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all wastewater pre-treatment and BNR plant equipment, including pneumatic, hydraulic systems and some electrical.
  • Must be able to use basic power tools, forklift, articulating booms, grade all, and capable of learning to use welding equipment. 
  • Must be able to troubleshoot and show a high level of communication, cooperation and teamwork with wastewater operators to maintain and repair equipment properly and in a timely manner.
  • Understand process operation, with the understanding of occasional operational coverage when needed.
  • Maintain operation of wastewater pre-treatment and BNR process.
  • Preventative Maintenance for process equipment and dewatering units.
  • Assist in maintaining critical component inventory for pre-treatment and BNR equipment.
  • Work with wastewater operations to ensure equipment is operating effectively.
  • Ensure all safety devices are installed and functioning with appropriate documentation.
  • Truck spot solids trailers as needed.
  • General cleaning and/or assisting other areas as needed and maintain safety, housekeeping and follow proper sanitary procedures.

Qualifications

Qualifications may vary due to the position of interest; further details will be discussed in the next process. 

  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal).
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Proficient in mathematics.
  • Proficient on a computer, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Must have legible handwriting.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • Must have an overall favorable employment record and attendance record.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Must be willing to rotate into various departments with varying QC related job duties as needed.
  • Must be able to show up to work daily and be on-time to perform the duties of the position.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time 12 hours on a concrete/metal grate floor.
  • Must be able to work in cold environments, 40 degrees or hot environment for up to 100 degrees.
  • Must be able to lift from 5-70 lbs. on a daily basis depending on what department assigned to for the shift.
  • Must be able to pass required tests and have the experience, skills and/or aptitude to advance to a higher level maintenance mechanic position.
  • Must be able to submit and pass criminal background check.
