Wastewater Collection & Pumping Supervisor

The City of Naperville is currently looking for a Wastewater Collection & Pumping Supervisor to manages personnel, materials, and programs to maintain, rehabilitate, and operate the Wastewater Collection and pumping system (mains, services, manholes, and lift stations). Additionally, the Collection & Pumping Supervisor analyzes and solves Wastewater Collection complaints and problems in order to maintain a very high level of customer service.

• Plans, evaluates, and coordinates preventative and corrective maintenance and rehabilitation/replacement on the Wastewater Collection and pumping system (mains, services, manholes, and lift stations).
• Coordinates the installation of flow meters and analyzes the accuracy of work performed and information received.
• Oversees and participates in comprehensive customer service problem solving for the Wastewater Collection system.
• Plans, evaluates, and coordinates and participates in the infiltration/inflow program.
• Administers the budget for operations and maintenance and CIP and purchases materials for the section.
• Oversees the section's files, records, and updates of utility mains/service locations on maps.
• Coordinates and communicates daily activities with the Water Distribution & Collection Manager and peers of affected sections, divisions, and departments.
• Prepares various required reports (accurately, in detail, and on time) and maintains accurate records of all section components and activities. Reviews daily reports from/with field supervisors.
• Effectively and efficiently schedules section personnel, including overtime and call-out needs, to meet section goals.
• Prepares bid specifications and administers bids for operations and maintenance and CIP projects.
• Performs all other related section duties as assigned in a professional, efficient, effective, safe, and timely manner.

• Five to seven years of related work experience.
• A high school diploma or equivalent plus broad specialized and formal training typically acquired through two or three years of college, technical school, or business school.
• A valid State of Illinois Class D driver's license.
• Preferred candidates will possess an Associate's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
