Are you interested in joining the State Parks Team? A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator career offers the chance to make an important contribution to the hard-working team at the Laurel Hill State Park Complex.
This is skilled work in the operation and maintenance of a wasteWater Treatment Plant at Laurel Hill State Park Complex. An operator at this complex will use, maintain, and repair motors, pumps, filters, chlorinators, aerators, flowmeters, and other equipment. The position will be responsible for collecting water samples and performing tests, reading meters and recording findings, and performing inspections to ensure that all facilities are functioning correctly. Additional work may include lawn mowing, removing hazardous trees, removing snow, and other general maintenance duties as required.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • We are a 7 day/week operation. This position works 5 of 7 days per week which could include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee (commonwealth title) program and certification as a wasteWater Treatment Plant Operator for any class and type of plant; or
  • Possession of a valid certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators as a wasteWater Treatment Plant Operator for any class and type of plant.
Necessary Special Requirements:
  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
  • This position requires possession of a valid PA Sewage License, Class C, Subclass 1 & 3, Wastewater Treatment Plant License issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators.
