The Opportunity 

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is hiring a full-time Waste Water Treatment Operator to join our team at Tenaya Lodge At Yosemite in Fish Camp, California. As a Waste Water Treatment Operator, you will be responsible for performing duties involved in the operation and maintenance of the wasteWater Treatment facility and drinking water infrastructure.

Responsibilities 
  • Participate in the operation and periodic maintenance of a variety of wasteWater Treatment equipment 
  • Work closely with certified Plant Operators to learn the various aspects of the wasteWater Treatment process and learn the basic operation of Tenaya’s drinking water, wastewater, and discharge systems 
  • Obtain continuing education units for Wastewater certification and Drinking Water certification through correspondence courses or other applicable training courses 
  • Follow safe work methods and safety precautions, and read meters and maintain operating logs 
  • Operate power-driven equipment and inspect and maintain various plant equipment  
Qualifications 
  • High school degree or GED and 6 continuing education units in an accredited wastewater course acknowledged by the State of California required 
  • Ability to read gauges and recording devices reflecting plant operations, and knowledge of basic water and wastewater mathematics 
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in drinking water operations, wastewater operations, or mechanical maintenance 
  • Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License as required for plant operation functions 
  • Obtain and maintain a California D1 Drinking Water Distribution Operator certification within 1 year of hiring and a Grade I California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate within 2 years of appointment with ongoing progress towards obtaining a Grade II California Wastewater Operator’s Certificate 
  • All wasteWater Treatment plant team members are expected to establish permanent residence within a 1-hour notification to respond zone
