Job description

Venture Global LNG ("Venture Global") is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company's two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global's modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

We are seeking a Warranty Manager to join our team in support of our Louisiana based Operating Assets. This role reports to the Director, Operations Services and will be responsible for developing and administering the organization's warranty program for equipment specific to various Venture Global LNG Facilities.

The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the warranty program, utilizing a cross-functional leadership style working closely with internal teams such as Projects, Engineering, Operations, and Purchasing as well externally with OEMs who have supplied equipment and processes to Venture Global LNG's project.  This role is based out of Lake Charles, Louisiana and with requirements for travel, as necessary across other VG operating assets in Louisiana. Key interactions include Louisiana and Houston-based team members, corporate team members, vendors, and contractors. The ability to effectively interface with the Arlington, VA, Houston, TX and Site Teams is a prerequisite, with strong inter-personal skills, communication and proactive approach to effective resolution of warranty issues.

As such, the candidates shall have adequate technical & commercial aptitudes and be able to understand what constitutes legitimate warranty claims and technical issues faced by the Operating Assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and provides support for warranty claims process, from initiation to closeout.
  • Interprets contract language to understand the Contractor's and Vendor's responsibilities related to equipment.
  • Guides the Operations team in properly managing equipment repairs and maintenance in accordance with Contract clauses, limiting Company's exposure to additional costs.
  • Reviews and analyzes contract records to advice technical and Commercial SMEs to determine legitimacy of claims.
  • Coordinates clarifications and closure with contractors and OEMs on warranty related queries, in timely manner.
  • Supports integration of Company systems to track, monitor and control costs of warranty claims.
  • Oversees the warranty claims reporting by creating and maintaining a database of all claims.
  • Prepares dashboard reports and recommendations for progressing warranty claims along with KPIs and advises team on data-driven decision making.
  • Ensures accurate utilization of approved systems for document control and updates of warranty claims and repairs.
  • Coordinates and liaises with facilities, projects, and HQ for identifying, monitoring, and resolving warranty claims.
  • Interfaces with legal counsels as appropriate.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Performs additional assignments as required, for Operations Services support.
  • Experience in managing small scale projects in operating environment valued $10MM, with strong project management drive is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with the setup, implementation, and end to end Execution of a Warranty Program.
  • Experience leading efficient warranty teams and programs across multiple operating assets.
  • Able to develop and execute a companywide program while clearly communicating expectations across all levels of the business.
  • Knowledge of EPC contract agreements and warranty claim processes required.
  • Knowledge of various methodologies for claims pricing and preparation required.
  • Able to identify contract specifications that allot risk and provide appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Experience with complex claims and dispute resolution procedures required in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Knowledge of technical issues faced across multi-disciplinary operations and maintenance such as failures and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls areas that enable effective discussions to resolution is required.
  • Experience with Staffing and Management
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast paced environment with excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to establish a vision of growth and adapting lessons learnt from warranty issues, across multiple assets to maximize value to the operating company and reliability.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 10+ years of operating asset experience managing warranty issues.
  • Strong Project Management experience with the ability to drive teams and coordination to meet timelines
  • Travel across sites in Louisiana is required
