Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred
Demonstrate an ability and willingness to follow instructions
Ability to lift, transport and position 60 pounds
Ability to work in surroundings that may be physically uncomfortable, i.e. hot, cold, noisy
Ability to produce work in a minimum amount of time
Ability to understand and adjust to changing situations
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Ability to maintain emotional stability
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with Nutrition and Food Service staff and other District employees
Must have a current Class B or above CDL driver's license, with no air brake restrictions, and meet District driving requirements
Successfully complete an accredited food handler's training course and certification test, within 60 days of employment
Primary Purpose:
To assist in receiving, organizing, maintaining and delivering food and non-food items to the Nutrition and Food Service District locations
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Complies with policies and procedures of the Federal and State Governments, KISD Board of Education and KISD Nutrition and Food Service Department.
- Reports on scheduled days to assigned location at scheduled time.
- Demonstrates willingness to work where needed and assists others until assignments are completed.
- Assist in receiving, pulling, stocking and delivering ordered items to the district kitchen sites.
- Assist with warehouse inventory and communicate concerns and inquiries to the warehouse supervisor.
- Assist in stocking and inventorying the food and non-food items at Rhodes Stadium/LMC.
- Assist in the assembly and delivery of small and large kitchen equipment.
- Assist in maintaining small kitchen equipment inventory.
- Assist with emergency food and non-food deliveries.
- Assist in rotation of food items and maintain warehouse cleanliness and maintenance.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks in a timely manner.
- Inform the warehouse supervisor of maintenance needs of Nutrition and Food Service delivery vehicles.
- Prepare training room for department meetings.
- Maintain a good vehicle driving record.
- Attends in-service training and workshops to keep abreast of new techniques and operations.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, hand tools, forklift, ladder, dolly, scaffolding, pallet jack, hand truck and light truck (less than 26,000 lbs.)

Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching; heavy lifting (60 pounds) and carrying. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; work on ladders and scaffolding. Exposure to dampness and humidity and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
