Mercer Street Friends is currently seeking a PT (25/week) Warehouse Associate to help us with the daily management of the Food Bank operations. Important requirements are to be a team player, multi-task, organized and enegetic.
Job Description : Warehouse Associates are responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming food and materials, picking and filling orders from inventory, packing orders, managing, organizing and retrieving inventory and other. Maintain the safety of equipment, vehicles and cleanliness of the warehouse according to OSHA standards.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:?
- Assist with all tasks associated with receiving product into inventory.
- Label all incoming product.
- Properly store and rotate inventory using first in first out method.
- Conduct weekly counts of inventory and slot food for picking tickets.
- Operate power equipment, including forklift and hydraulic jack.
- Ensure that all needed product is accessible for distribution.
- Help organize and set-up work stations for volunteer projects.
- Pull agency orders when required.
- Deliver agency orders when required.
- Pick up food donations when required.
- Keep warehouse areas neat, orderly and clean.
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma / GED preferred
- Valid First Aid and CPR training and certification preferred
- Certification preferred to use electric machinery in the warehouse
- Able to pass drug test and math test
- Preferred to be bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organizational skills
- Should be helpful and able to multitask easily
- Must be energetic and active
- Manage time effectively and efficiently
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to wear safety gear at all times
