WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The weighmaster's responsibilities include weighing trucks entering and exiting the facility, directing incoming traffic, entering truck and trailer information into Red Prairie, and communicating any issues to the Shipping Office staff.
- Communicating with customers and vendors regarding products, materials, and services.
- Operating scale house computers to obtain weight information for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Directing visitors, customers, and delivery drivers to the South Guard house.
- Logging incoming loads into the computer inventory.
- Working with the Warehouse to confirm truck arrivals to yard/dock doors.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED; 1-2 years previous experience in logistics environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid California Driver's License
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Red Prairie, and JD Edwards.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all employees and management personnel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when business needs arise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Inventory control experience.
- Scheduling/planner experience.
- Knowledge of related business systems: Windows, MS Office Suite, WMS/ERP systems, JD Edwards, Red Prairie (JDA), WMS/LMS.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Environment exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below).
- Material exposure – moving mechanical parts.
- Required to climb stairways.
- Must be able to lift up to 50-55 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period during shift.
