The Opportunity
Provide training support to Southwest Cheese Site management through interviewing and testing new hires, new hire orientation, certification of employees, support for plant management and human resources, identifying and implementing process optimization projects, training new hires and internal movements, and writing and updating SOPs. This permanent position will report to the Warehouse Manager and will;
- Oversee new hire orientation, including informing them of safety and quality regulations.
- Train new and recently promoted employees in various areas as necessary.
- Oversee certifications for forklifts and other manufacturing equipment.
- Conduct audits to ensure employees perform tasks according to standards operating procedures (SOP).
- Provide support for performance improvement activities.
- Maintain documentation of employee certifications and all information necessary for orientation, SOPs, etc.
- Assist with employee audits and performance evaluations.
- Utilizes continuous improvement processes, driving zero losses, and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to queries from leaders, clients and customers.
- Proficient personal computer skills, including electronic mail, recording keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Provide leadership to others through examples and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.
