Team Leader Description
A Warehouse Team Leader ensures a safe, productive warehouse environment during their shift. They oversee a team of warehouse associates that are receiving and stocking freight. They complete functions such as monitoring productivity, coaching best practices, and maintain inventory accuracy. Reports to the warehouse operations leader. Generally, works 40 hours per week, but some overtime and flex in the schedule may be required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assigns associates to stock freight by zone, monitors completion and flows individuals
to the work.
2. Leads, coaches, and trains employees performing related work. Manages productivity of
the receiving freight team.
3. Onboards and trains new hires.
4. May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and
equipment; may operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; may assist in routine
maintenance of equipment; may unlock/lock warehouse and set alarms.
5. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous
quality improvement objectives, and safety, and environmental standards.
6. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
7. Attend daily direction setting meeting(s).
8. Investigates inventory discrepancies.
9. Ensures team executes end of shift expectations/clean-up.
