Warehouse Team Lead

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of his/her assigned team. The Warehouse Team Lead must ensure efficient, accurate warehouse operations targeted towards fulfilling internal management system requirements and achieving business targets. The Warehouse Team Lead must also coordinate workload, set priorities, monitor progress, and resolve and/or escalate issues that impede the team’s success.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists in running an efficient warehouse operation which is able to fulfill operational and customer demands, while meeting established targets.
• Provides on-the job training (OJT) to assigned team members, confirm members abilities to perform at desired levels.
• Assists in tracking and recording training sessions, attendance, and maintains team member files.
• Leads team members in conducting daily safety and quality checks to ensure service performance levels are maintained.
• Checks and confirms the accuracy of work instructions, makes suggestions for improvements as seen necessary.
• Confirms non-conforming inbound freight is documented; any damage, shortages, or over shipments.
• Ensures that all product received is promptly placed in designated locations.
• Ensures that aisles are kept clear and workplace hazards are addressed immediately.
• Ensures that all team members are complying with safety, health, and quality standards.
• Ensures lifting and maneuvering of product is carried out in accordance to handling procedures.
• Ensures hazardous materials are stored, moved, or disposed of in accordance with requirements.
• Notifies the Warehouse Manager of any problems with equipment, the building, or any suspicious activities.
• Notifies Manager of need for operating supplies and PPE to complete required tasks.
• Assists in capacity planning and implementation of layout changes to accommodate business changes.
• Where possible, resolve any issues or problems impeding the team’s success, escalate if it cannot be resolved.
• Takes necessary steps to prevent theft in the warehouse. Secures all doors and docks at the close of business. Questions any unauthorized personnel in the building.
• Sets expectations for the team and monitors them to ensure the team is meeting or exceeding the expectations.
• Assists Manager in monitoring and recording individual team members performance and efficiencies. Coaches and mentors if desired results are not obtained.
• Assists in the preparation and evaluation of team members performance reviews.
• Other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
