POSITION OVERVIEW:
Maintain facilities in accordance with standards and procedures of the warehouse department. Assist in all aspects of warehouse operations. Assist in filling warehouse invoices for school and other departments from stock or buying from local vendors. Remain flexible to report to work at the location and shift specified in accordance with the needs of the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Verify packages according to Purchase Orders-Pack Slips and invoices. (Quantity, Quality).
- Inspect contents to ensure they are correct and undamaged.
- Report damages or shortages to the appropriate person.
- Unload packages from incoming trucks.
- Receive and signing for deliveries.
- Unloading deliveries from trucks.
- Unloading and unpack shipments of products.
- Organizing and storing received items in appropriate areas.
- Shipments, check for damages, sign proper paperwork upon receipt.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
- Finding locations for new items in the warehouse.
- Ability to follow instruction.
- Transport and deliver supplies, furnishings, food service products, mail, school deposits, print shop materials according to an established route.
- Ability to safely load, secure and unload all equipment and supplies assigned to your route.
- Customer service and public relations skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain honesty and integrity in all aspects of the job.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety, warehousing, and material handling procedures.
- Knowledge of pallet jacks of various types, and with the ability to be forklift certified.
- Ability to participate and work in a team environment.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.
- Ability and willingness to adhere to attendance requirements, including regular and punctual employee presence.
- Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Cleans and refuels district activity vehicles.
- Perform pre- and post -trip inspections for the district vehicles that are being used.
- Assist with snow removal. Perform and assist staff with site maintenance and repair work at all District facilities, such as snow removal, including operating truck-mounted snowplows and sanding equipment.
- Coordinate with other staff within Support Services for pickup and delivery of equipment or other items for special programs and events (i.e., graduation, musical programs) throughout the District.
- Ability to be a sub bus driver as needed which requires class “B” CDL with P&S endorsements. Will be required to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) prescribed physical that requires employee to be in a random drug and alcohol pool.
