SUMMARY

Manage all functions within the warehouse in Shafter, CA, including receiving, storage, order picking, shipping and transportation. This position requires a focus on customer satisfaction by maintaining and continually improving warehouse operations to ensure the timely, accurate and cost-efficient delivery of products to our customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manages and promotes staff to perform duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner applying rules, regulations and policies with fair and consistent practice
  • Leads internal efforts in developing implementation of best practices throughout the shipping operation
  • Conduct and coordinate annual physical inventory
  • Investigates cause analysis issues for problem reconciliation and leads corrective action for complaints related to transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished products.
  • Supervises physical condition of warehouse and equipment. Prepares work order for repairs and requisites for replacement of equipment.
  • Directs staff to support strategic customer care service objectives, enhance staff, team skills and competencies, and establish team performance objectives.
  • Ensures that all carriers comply with legal, quality and safety standards.
  • Investigates cause analysis issues for problem reconciliation and leads corrective action for complaints related to transportation, logistics handling and warehousing of finished products.
  • Confers with department heads of NAPCO sites to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, quality control and purchasing.
  • Maintains records for warehouse operations.
  • Works with managers and personnel of other departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Arrange warehouse materials to maximize utilization of space and to expedite pulling of job orders.
  • Responsible for managing the flow of all materials into and out of the warehouse to include customer shipments, supplier shipments, interplant shipments, etc.
  • Provide technical leadership to personnel, to include: equipment, cycle count accuracy, inventory location control, order picking accuracy, metrics definition/reporting, root cause troubleshooting, JDI, DSI, etc.
  • Facilitate safety training and complete all incident investigations and reporting.
  • Coordinate departmental productivity and inventory management goals.
  • Evaluate and manage warehouse resources and activities in relation to company objectives and set targets.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Material Management, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant industry experience.
  • 5 years of management experience in warehousing, inventory control, or materials management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of JDE.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution ability.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US markets. The base pay range for this position is $75k to $100k. This range is based on relevant market data in our lowest and highest geographic markets. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, experience and skillset. Westlake is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, sign on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package (also to include a full range of medical and other benefits

Pay: $75,000.00 - $1,100,000.00 per year
