Overview
WAREHOUSE SPECIALIST: UIC Construction, LLC - Anchorage Alaska
Depending on Experience, this job pays $18.00-$20.00 an hour with no relocation expenses or housing provided.
Summary:Warehouse Specialist will report directly to Purchasing and Logistics Manager and assist in the day-to-day functions of the warehouse crews. Work involves the following: verifying materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with UIC warehouse methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Other duties as assigned.
This candidate may operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties.
Forklift/ Loader experience is preferred for Warehouse Specialist position. If forklift operation is required, the candidate must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check.
Must be able to perform basic mathematics.
Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner.
Must be motivated to perform other duties as assigned by Managers.
Responsibilities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a good working knowledgeable of warehousing.
Must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle background check (for forklift, Loader operation).
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, and outside vendors.
Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Must be able to preform work in a safe manor and in compliance with current OSHA regulations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer knowledge. Working knowledge of internet, MS Office Suite, and Outlook.

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is:
Regularly required to sit; use hands to handle, move, manipulate or feel objects; talk and/or hear and taste and/or smell.
Frequently required to stand for long periods of time.
Walk on uneven surfaces, in all weather conditions.
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
Routinely required to stand, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or squat.
Frequently lifts and /or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
Often exerts similar effort in pushing, pulling and positioning parts assemblies and equipment.
Frequently lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers or with lifting devices such as pallet Jack, forklift, loader
Qualifications
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of the minimum standards an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Grooming and dress code will be in keeping with UIC Personnel Policy.
Work hours may fluctuate outside of normal duty hours.
Minimal travel is maybe anticipated for this position.
Employee must complete required driver's training and follow all Authorized Driver policies and procedures.
All employees are subject to a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and/or random drug screen and must follow UIC's Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requirements.
Applicant must pass a pre-employment criminal background history check.

Authorized Driver Requirement: Employee must have a valid driver's license and three (3) year clean driving record. Employee must follow all Authorized Driver Policy and Procedures regarding approved vehicle usage.
